Construction of Storey Building – USD 110,000

Storey Building

Construction of Storey Building – USD 110,000

The Problem
Gracefield Academy currently operates in facilities that are inadequate to meet the growing demand for quality, affordable education in Masajja Kibira. Overcrowded classrooms, lack of specialized spaces such as libraries and laboratories, and temporary structures limit the learning experience and hinder the school’s ability to enroll more students. Vulnerable groups—especially orphans, refugees, and children from low-income families—are the most affected, as they miss out on a safe, conducive, and fully equipped learning environment.

The Solution
The proposed storey building, as outlined in the Gracefield Academy School Project Proposal, will feature:

  • Eight Classrooms – Three for the nursery section and five for the primary section.

  • Five Offices – For administration and staff.

  • Library – To promote literacy and provide access to learning resources.

  • Dormitories – To house students from remote or vulnerable backgrounds.

  • Dining Hall and Kitchen – To support the feeding program.

  • Sanitation Facilities – Toilets and latrines to improve hygiene.

By constructing a permanent, multi-purpose building, Gracefield will be able to increase enrollment, provide specialized spaces for learning, and enhance safety and accessibility for all students.

  • Increased Capacity – More children will access education, reducing dropout rates and combating child labor in the area.

  • Improved Learning Environment – Adequate space and facilities support better academic performance and personal development.

  • Community Resource – Beyond school hours, the building can host skills training sessions, community meetings, and medical camps.

  • Long-term Sustainability – Permanent infrastructure ensures that educational gains are preserved for generations.

This construction project is more than a building—it is a long-term investment in the academic success, safety, and empowerment of hundreds of children in Wakiso District.
